Miffy Remastered

A remastered edition of a classic children’s book.

Problem

Despite the enduring popularity of classic novels, spirits, albums,
and characters like Miffy, there is a need to refresh and remaster these timeless works to celebrate their historical significance and appeal
to modern audiences. These remastered editions must have a greater investment value and communicate a new user experience while being nostalgic and by honoring the existing historical presence. 

Objective

To honor the existing history of a collection of work, it is important to do thorough product research including past customers and a
visual analysis. Then using that knowledge, I designed from branding to packaging a remastered product through a complete product line.

Solution

I remastered the beloved children’s book "Miffy" for its 70th anniversary by showcasing Dick Bruna, the author and illustrator, and his method of "drawing with scissors," adapted from his lifelong inspiration, Matisse. In this remastered collection of Miffy, I adopt Matisse’s and Bruna’s method of using 2-D paper cutouts, and strict vibrant colors throughout all parts of the brand and packaging.
